Review 7/13/2010
My experience with Southern California Moving was extremely difficult. Our move was scheduled for 7/9/10. The day began with the movers showing up 3 hours late from their appointment. The moment they arrived, their driver exited the truck cursing and threatening to leave the job site as a result of him being tired and getting lost. As this was my introduction to the work crew after having a great experience with the sales man, the owner, I was appalled and felt the owner should know about this and may send out a new crew. This was not the case. The family owned sales pitch and the customer comes first attitude with the sell was not the final delivery of their product. I attempted to call the owner 25 times, no exaggeration, to see if he would address the issue of the company being 3 hours late and having a hostile employee show up to our residence. He never took my call. I was told by the office that he was the only one to speak with regarding problems and to get resolutions. The job was quoted as a 10 hour job. Approximately 5 hours into the job, the workers complained about being tired and wanted to extend the move into the next day. At this time, all of my families clothes and toiletries had been loaded and were deep within the trailer. Since the crew was short and tired, I had spent 5 hours of my time helping them load and clear my home. At this point I was dirty and sweaty as they were. The crew got their way and ended up going home to a shower and fresh clothing. I went to Wal Mart and purchased some clothes to be ready for the next day. The company refused to reimburse me for this expense even though they failed to deliver the job as promised in 1 day. The job ended up being completed on 7/10/10, a day late. The company refused to reimburse for my hotel expense, clothes, and food. They had my family and I as a hostage. To this day, the owner will not accept a phone call or acknowledge the poor customer service we experienced with their business. Do not fall victim to the great family business pitch as they are not concerned about the customer at all. Had I checked BBB before the move, I would have never used them since their rating is a B-. Use a company that has an A rating and you will not be let down.
