Review 10/20/2009
On September 24, 2009 the movers showed up exactly as they were supposed to at our Richmond, VA home. Before the packing began, my over the phone quote of $1600 had about doubled. I expected the end price to be more so I wasn't that ticked off. The movers Yose and Elvis took good care packing everything up and getting it on the truck.

Then the experience went totally downhill. Deliverymen were supposed to show up at my Pembroke, MA home sometime the next week. No one ever called from dispatch so I had to keep on calling..."someone will call you the day before delivery" they told me. We are now into the first full week of October 2009 -no calls from dispatch. I call several times and on Thursday, October 8 I am told that they will be delivering late Saturday night (but before 10pm) or early Sunday morning. Long story short, they show up Sunday morning October 11th, 17 days after pickup even though the distance between homes is less than 600 miles.

The result of the move: One smashed cocktail table, one broken dining table leg that was "stuck on" so that we wouldn't see it, one formal living room chair with a leg that was cracked but taped with a colored tape to match the leg color so you wouldn't see the crack and the same chair with another leg that was broken off but repaired badly "somewhere", two rugs that had been rolled up and tapped for transport and when they came off the truck they were still rolled up but FOLDED in half so there are permanent wrinkles in the middle of both rugs, and finally, a floor lamp with the top knocked off but "fixed" as to not appear damaged. Damage was noticed when we tried to put a bulb in the socket and the thing fell apart in our hands! The house in Richmond had been lived in for only six months, all brand new furniture, value of damaged goods is slightly less than $5000.

Thee huge negative aspects: no communication from dispatch once drivers pick up the merchandise; 17 days between pick up and delivery for a <600 mile trip - in my opinion the damage occurred due to the fact that it was on and off the truck multiple times; and worst of all, to conceal damage and not disclose it upon delivery is reprehensible and totally unethical. Good companies simply do NOT act this way.
