Review 9/22/2011
I'm so frustrated when I go to a place to get my car serviced and find they use "scare tactics" to get me to have more work done, telling me that I need to get extra work done which is unnecessary and that if I don't do it "I could be in trouble." We all have experienced this. Even when I go for simple oil changes.

NOT THIS PLACE!!

Since I moved to LA in 2005 this has been the ONLY service center NOT to play the "you need more work" game.

As I drove in at 7:30am this morning I realized that MANY people must realize this as I waited 7 cars back in a double line of Chevrolets ... and Nissans, and Toyotas, and Fords ... several makes! People with ANY make KNOW this place offers GOOD service. More importantly.... they are HONEST.

I came in with a chirping rear wheel thinking it was the brakes. I was informed it "could" be the shocks but that they would look. They had done the brakes 6 months ago so if it were a brake issue I wouldn't have to pay anything as their work is assured for a year.

I asked them to do the oil change as well.

I waited in the service area, bracing for being told I needed shocks. I'd even asked for that pricing (so I was prepared). But when they called I was cheerfully told that they'd simply found a hard spot on the drum and a little glazing and that they would take care of it. This was not a matter of bad work the first time; it's a materials issue that can happen. I asked about the condition of the shocks and was assured they were fine ... backs AND fronts (they even checked the fronts for me for safety).

When it was all said and done, the charge was only $34. And AFTER I signed off I was politely advised of important milestone maintenance for my car that wasn't immediately needed but should consider "for the future." NO PRESSURE tactics.

They advised of a transmission service and the price for even that was highly competitive so I will probably get it done in the next month as I am 5,000 miles overdue.

And because I have been going to these guys for 4 years now, I KNEW while I waited that I could actually trust what they found and advised without worry. I have never had the ability to actually trust a mechanic before. NEVER. So this is very good.

Regardless of the car model and make you have, this place should become a trusted go-to service center for everyone.

I do miss their location on Van Nuys and having a little workstation for my laptop but they were very gracious and allowed me an unused customer sales desk in the showroom area. However, they do need to get WiFi access for the service waiting area. Not a biggie...
