READ THIS VERY CAREFULLY FROM START TO FINISH BEFORE YOU EVEN CONSIDER USING REMINGTON MOVING & STORAGE out of Gardena, CA - I used Remington Moving & Storage to do a long distance move from San Diego to Dallas last month. Things started out great and ended up in a complete disaster. First off, this company that is B+ rated by the BBB (Better Business Bureau) is at best an F- grade. They do nothing but lie, have NO sense of what the word customer service is or means and all they care about is getting their money. They could not care less about taking personal pride in getting your items there. Be VERY CAREFUL in that they illegally charged my credit card $561 without my authorization. No discussion or anything. Luckily I denied the charge with my bank and got my money back. Now they are claiming my claim for damages, etc is on hold until I pay the $561. They picked up my household goods, went to weigh the truck and claim it was over what they originally quoted. I sold 2 pieces of furniture and consolidated probably 20 boxes. This VERY CLEARLY tells me the sales person Sam does not know what he is doing. I requested full packing services, which turned into a complete disaster in that their packers do NOT know how to pack boxes. I had one box where they literally threw 3 lamps, shades, etc in a box with other items that scratched the lamps, broke all the bulbs, etc. NOTHING was even wrapped in paper. They took loose items down in my garage, threw them into an empty plastic laundry basket as well as plastic 50 gallon trash can and tossed items and strapped tape around it. Everything sticking out the top. Again, no sense of proper packing. The laundry basket and trash can completely destroyed, had to throw them both away. They took all of my items (liquids) from under the kitchen & bathroom sinks and literally threw them in a box, nothing wrapped in plastic or paper. Almost all items spilled all over and had to be thrown away. As mentioned, their packers have had no education or training on how to properly pack household goods. As for my furniture, I spent $15,000 on brand new furniture prior to leaving San Diego and 2 of the pieces of furniture have huge gashes in the legs. They were not properly wrapped with blankets. On top of that, they tried to load 6 trips/stops in one truck which means when they pulled up, most of my large furniture was not even in the truck, they drove up with it all strapped to the outside of the truck which looked like Sanford & Son’s Truck pulling up. The truck they used looked like it was 20 years old, no professional markings on it that advertised Remington Moving & Storage. I moved into a high rise Apt in Dallas and told Sam 10 times that he needed to give me 2 days notice of when they were going to drop off my household goods in Dallas so I could reserve the freight elevator. The driver calls me 12 hours before he is about to arrive to tell me that he is about 500 miles away and will be there at 8 am the next morning. All the driver cared about was collecting the balance of the money owed. The driver shows up with 4 helpers that not one of them could speak or understand one ounce of English. Boxes were marked Guest Bedroom that I found in the Master Bedroom. Boxes marked Kitchen were in the Guest Bathroom. At least 30 boxes were NOT marked at all which means I had no idea which room they were supposed to go into. This was a huge lessons learned for me that on my next move, I will pay extra to use a company that is well known and reputable like American, United, Mayflower or any of the others. Document EVERYTHING with photos. Pictures are worth a thousand words. If you have nothing to show, its your word against theirs. I asked to speak with a person they claim is called Noah and is the owner of Remington Moving & Storage as I wanted to share with this person what my experience was with his company. I was told Noah does not speak with customers. I could continue on, as there is much more I have not included that would make you just throw up. Nicole is another one who is priceless and one who has ZERO sense of customer service. Bottom line is this, Remington Moving & Storage cares NOTHING about you or your household goods. All they care about is putting money in their pocket. YES, this is all 100% true!!
