Review 6/29/2011
My daughters grandparents who are in their 80's and live over 75 miles away wanted to send my daugther a special flower arrangement for her birthday. They were charged $78.00 for a small glass box with 3 hydrainga flowers and a few purple flowers. Needless to say the arrangement was anything but "special". First my daughter received a call from the delivery person demanding to know if anyone was at our home as she had to call before making a delivery and she was busy. Luckily someone was home, the flowers were delivered and looked as if they had been out in the sun or in a hot car for hours. They were wilty and despite what the florist told the grandparents the flowers were not fresh and did not even have a fragrance to them. We watered them and hoped they would bounce back. Unfortunately it went from bad to worse and the flowers were completely limp, lifeless and beginning to turn brown within 24-36 hours after delivery. When I contacted Expressions Florist I was rudely spoken to by whomever answered the phone and told that they were closed and I could come by or call back the next day. It was 7:01pm. My husband had some time the next morning and took the flowers back to Expressions Florist on Imperial Hwy in Brea and was attacked by the owner Linda. She saw the flowers when he walked in and stated "those got fried." he explained that they were delivered in a negative state and that he would like to have the grandparents money refunded or a credit be given to them since clearly the flowers were not of quality nor were they worth near $80. Linda became irrate and stated that they have a 24 hour guarantee on their flowers. Had they publicized that more I don't think they would be in business given that a 24 hour guarantee for flowers pretty much seals the flowers fate and they are not going to be fresh. My husband called me while outside the shop and I then called and spoke to Linda. I explained our dilemma and rather than show good customer service she was accusatory, rude and disrespectful. She said she could only replace the flowers but that someone would have to come back at the end of the day. I didn't get to say much to her as she was ranting on and on so I asked her for her license number and her response was "you want WHAT?" I repeated my question and she made a very loud sigh and hung up very abruptly in my ear. My daughters grandparents are on a fixed income and to first of all be charged $80 for such a small, wilted, no fragrant arranngement was as close to taking advantage of the elderly as you can get. An offer of a partial credit or full credit would have been the proper resolution to this nightmare but Linda at Expressions Florist chose to be rude, condenscending, and disrespectful to contributing members of the community and a very elderly couple that was only trying to do something special for their granddaughter. Needless to say this business has lost our business and the business of all of our friends, relatives and business associates. Many companies survive on word of mouth in this tough economic time but if Expressions Florist chooses to continue to treat customers that received a "bad or defective" product, to no fault of their own, in such a manner as we experienced they will not have very many repeat customers.
