Review 7/19/2010
DO NOT take your car to this place under ANY circumstances (even if they literally pay you to go)!I bought a Groupon for a "The Works" carwash, and took my G35 in two days later. As soon as my car came out of the automated part of the wash, I noticed a HUGE 1-foot scratch on the left side of the car that obviously wasn't there before I gave them my keys. I always notice any new dings or scratches on my car, especially on the driver-side since I see that side before getting in.I immediately notified one of the guys that was drying my car, and he then told the manager, Jose Rodriguez. Jose came out and basically told me right away that there is no way their equipment could've caused the scratch. He said that the scratch must've previously been there, and that the wax from the wash caused it to become more obvious. Then he had the nerve to ask me to tell him about all the other scratches on my car, insinuating that if I wasn't able to do that then the new scratch caused by Capitol Premier Car Wash was probably something that was there before that I simply hadn't noticed. While I stood there waiting for him to get a claim form for this incident, another attendant BACKED ANOTHER CAR INTO MINE! Both the owner of that car and I saw it happen with our own eyes. When the attendant got out, and heard us asking "WTF was that?!", he simply yelled back "Hey, accidents happen!" Unbelievable! So Jose told me that they have 18 cameras on the property specifically placed to review these types of incidents. He said he would take a careful look and get back to me "by Monday or Tuesday at the latest"; the incident happened on a Saturday. I called him repeatedly over the next few days, leaving voicemails each time, but did not receive a call back from Jose.Only after I spoke to someone else over the phone and asked her to get Jose to call me back, did Jose finally decide to do so today (Wednesday). The previous review about them ignoring your calls and not calling back is completely accurate! Jose told me that he reviewed the footage, and passed on his findings to the owner. I asked him what he saw from the tapes, and he refused to divulge any information other than "I couldn't see much" and "Well, we have construction on that side, so I wasn't able to see anything". The day of the incident, I asked Jose if I could also view the video footage once he found it. He said "possibly"; today he said no. Hmm, I wonder why. When I asked him about the owner's verdict, he told me that I would be receiving a written letter soon, but would not allow me to speak to the owner because that's how the owner prefers it. I will wait a couple days for the letter to arrive, but at this point I'm pretty confident about what to expect of its contents.I rarely ever post on Yelp, but found the need to do it this time to save people time, energy, and oh, just a few thousand dollars in repairs.I have already notified Groupon about the complete negligence by Capitol Premier Car Wash in handling this incident the right way; if you bought a Groupon (or 3, like me) for this place, they'll be happy to refund you the entire amount as they now know about this shadiness I will also be notifying my entire social network so they don't have to experience the same thing I've had to go through. If anyone would like to see some pictures of the damage caused by Capitol Premier Car Wash, feel free to contact me; I'll send you some pictures. If you've had a similar experience, let's hear about it.Thanks for reading, and remember DO NOT take your business or your car to Capitol Premier Car Wash! You will regret it just like me!***** UPDATE, 7/19/2010 *****Jose called me on Friday and left the following voicemail:The owner was about to send you a letter but once he found what you said--even before knowing what we were going to do--on Yelp he decided not to send you a letter and stop everything. That's funny. He told me Wednesday that the owner already sent the letter out on Tuesday. Once again, if my initial review didn't convince you that this place is pure evil, this should clinch it. These guys lie over and over again. Jose did, however, give me the owner's email address. After asking him to make it right, the owner responded by saying "in the interest of fairness" that he's arranged for me to take my car to the nearby body shop to have it inspected "by a professional" to determine whether or not the scratch could've been caused by the carwash or by a key. I'm sorry, but I don't need someone who wasn't there when they scratched my car to tell me what he believes happened. I told him "in the interest of fairness", why not show me the video footage. If the scratch was there before the wash, I'll walk away; but if it wasn't, he should pay for the full repair. He declined, I wonder why. As of this update, the company's BBB rating is C+. Let's see where it ends up. I'm now pursuing various legal options to rectify this injustice, since they won't.
